he Daily Telegram, February 11, 1966 JOHANNES--Dr. A. W. Johannes dies at Schuyler; rites Monday SCHUYLER--Dr. Allen William Johannes, 66, prominent Schuyler dentist, died of a heart attack Thursday evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Presbyterian church, with the Rev. Richard Hovis officiating, and burial will be in Schuyler cemetery. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Saturday at Svoboda Funeral Home. He was born June 16, 1899, at Abie, the son of William and Anna Marushak Johannes. He was graduated from David City high school, and from the University of Nebraska in 1924. He was married to Ann Rezac Sept. 20, 1924, at Council Bluffs, Ia., and they came to Schuyler to reside. Active in Masonic affairs, Dr. Johannes was affiliated with Acacia Lodge of Schuyler, Omaha Shriners and Tangler Temple of Omaha. He was also a member of Pierrie-Faucherd Academy of Fremont. Dr. Johannes was a member of the Elks Lodge of Columbus, and was affiliated with the Nebraska Dental Association and American Dental Association. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Tooley of Lincoln; four grandchildren; one brother Arnold Johannes of Reno, Nev., and one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Elsie) Krejci of Schuyler. Pallbearers will be Herman Mejstrik, Elmer J. Svec, George McKenzie, Gerald A. Krejci, Joe Vavra and Russell D. Salak per DON
