Bio
She was the daughter of N. R. Roberts & Lucinda Kirkland. Nimrod R. Roberts immigrated from South Carolina through most of the southern states ending up living and dying near Ennis, Texas, burial in Burnham Cememtary (Near Ennis, Texas). His Roberts ancestors can be traced to Father Pierre Robert, a Hugenot leader near Bern, Switzerland in the 1500s. Nimrod was originally married to Susan Tempy Kirkland who died in Alabama in 1857. Since Louisa Rachel Roberts was born in 1852 it is likely that Susan is her mother and the Lucinda was her step-mother and aunt. After Susan died Nimrod married Lucinda, Susan's sister and they had a number of children after that. Nimrod fathered 16 children by the two Kirkland sisters, 6 by Susan and 10 by Lucinda.
