Bio

Mankins had been failing in health and had mentioned he would kill himself to others. His cabin had been burned, and Mankins was in another cabin with a rifle alongside of him. He was born May 2, 1872 in San Benito County and was liked by all those who knew him. He was a hard working honest man who always had a kind word for everyone. His funeral was under Reimer's Undertaking parlors. ### Not sure if this is the corrected cemetery. Cant find him anywhere else. There are only a few headstones left at this rural cemetery. His mother and father are buried here. I was told he committed suicide. Note: August 2016 San Benito Counties coroners report confirms he shot himself in head.
