Bio

Eunice M. Cooper, 88 died September 22, 2010 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, LA. Eunice worked for the Social Security office for several years prior to working at National Bank of Commerce as a personal banker retiring in 1985. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in DeRidder, and was very involved with mission work through the church. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter William Miers, Sr., and her mother, Nancy Lilymae Cooley Miers; sister, JoyLea Mires; brother, Walter Williams Miers, Jr.; and her first husband Rodney E. Youngblood. Eunice is survived by her husband, Ralph Landon Cooper; daughter, Linda Elizabeth Youngblood Kern and her husband Ronald Paul Kern of Garden City, KS; sister-in-law, Arlene Miers of Singer, LA; niece, Lorraine Miers Kerbow of Singer, LA; nephews: Michael Miers, Jim Miers, David Miers, and Ken Miers all of Singer, LA; several great nieces and nephews; Stepsons; Ralph L. Cooper of Sweeny, TX and Robert W. Cooper of Jefferson, TX; and Stepdaughter, Mary Catherine Harris of Boerne, TX. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 1010 from 5:00-9:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Funeral Services will be held at the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 on Friday, September 24, 2010 beginning with a visitation from 9:00 a.m until service time. Reverend Lindsey Burns will officiate. Burial will be at Newlin Cemetery in Singer, LA under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Agape Medical Clinic.
