Bio

Sally was the daughter of William Madison and Vannie Lee Wofford Welch of Real County Texas. She was married three times: 1) Albert Lee Lewis, 1903, who was the father of her children, Betha Lee (1906-1992), Bernie (1908-2001) and Stokley Ted (1910-1965). Albert died tragically in a wagon accident in 1912 in Frio County near Pearsall Texas. 2) Daniel Boone Gilbert, 1889-1993, who was the father of her son, Ira B. Gilbert (1919-2005). Daniel died in Freestone County Texas. 3) William T. "Bill" Miller, 1908-1994, died in San Angelo. Sally and Bill were married on October 11, 1934, in the rumble seat of a Model A Ford which remains in the Welch family today (2010). They lived primarily in the Big Lake area after their marriage.
