Hooker County Tribune, Mullen, NE, Thu, 28 Feb 1946 Rosa Ellen Powers Summary Rosa Ellen Powers, born 26 Jul 1868 at Beardstown, IL and died at her home in Brownlee on 11 Feb 1946, aged, 77Y, 6M, 15D. Her early years were spent in Illinois and then her parents moved to David City, NE. Most of her married life was spent in KS until the family moved from Norton to Brownlee 20 years ago. Married Walter Raymond Powers on 13 May 1895 at Topeka, KS and had 4 sons and 3 daughters; Edith Pearl of Sweet Home, OR, James Edward of Albin, WY, Nina Florence of Monterey Park, CA, Ethel Maude how died 20 years ago, Wesley Raymond of Sarben, NE, Charles Aubrey of Oshkosh, NE, Irven Byrl of Bridgeport, NE. Survived by her husband, 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Her many friends will mis her and mourn her passing. Mrs. Powers had been in poor health for about 3 years and the past few months she had been failing greatly. Her husband offered her loving care. Mrs. Powers' long married life was characterized by her complete devotion to her husband and family for more than 50 years. They kept their marriage vows together through thick and thin, illness and death, enjoying with each other all of the joys and sorrows and comforting each other in disappointments.
