Bio

Anson Sprague Woodworth March 12,1822-June 27,1907 Old Settler Passes Away Anson S. Woodworth was born in Pompey, Onondaga county, N.Y., March 12, 1822, and died at his son's home nine miles west of Arcadia, on Thursday afternoon, June 27, 1907. He was at that time 85 years, 3 months and 15 days old. On March 27, 1841, he was married to Ellen Bisbee and six children were born to this union. Of the family only one survives, A.E. Woodworth, the son at whose home his father passes away. Mr. Woodworth came to Custer county in 1877 hence is well known throughout that county. Up till the last year of his life he has been active and energetic, more so even than many 20 years his junior. Funeral services were held at his son's residence on Friday afternoon, June 28, by Rev. W.E. Matthews and the body was laid to rest in the Westerville cemetery. Published in the Arcadia Champion, Arcadia, Nebraska, Thursday, July 4, 1907
