WOODWORTH The community received a sad shock Sunday afternoon when it was learned that Mrs. A. E. Woodworth had passed away. She had been very ill for some time and little hope was entertained for her recovery but the passing away of this noble woman was none the less sad by being expected. Sarah E. Trout was born in Erie County, Penn., June 26, 1863. When she was ten years of age she moved with her parents to Gibbon, Nebr., where she resided until June 12, 1881, when she was married to A.E. Woodworth and they moved to their homestead ten miles southwest of Arcadia in Custer County. She remained on this homestead until three years ago when the family moved to Arcadia where she resided until called to cross the dark river from whence there is no returning but where we have promise of rest and peace everlasting. Besides her grief-stricken husband Mrs. Woodworth left to mourn her death four sons and two daughters, they being Lee Woodworth, Roy Woodworth, Everett Woodworth, and Mrs. Mae Dockhorn of this place, Mrs. George Stern, of Chicago and Edward Woodworth who is now in the United States Navy. All the children were present at the funeral which held from the residence Tuesday afternoon with the exception of Edward who was unable to reach home in time. Rev. Scott of the Methodist church conducted the funeral service at the residence and the remains were laid to rest in the Lee Park cemetery, the members of the Vesta Rebekah Lodge having charge of the burial service. We join the entire community in extending to the sorrowing relatives sincere sympathy.
