J. L. MEADOWS WAS BURIED TUESDAY Funeral services for J. L. Meadows were held from the Methodist Church here Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock with Reverend J. E. Harrell of Roscoe. Reverend W. M. Elliott and J. D. Harvey of Colorado officiating. Interment was in the Loraine Cemetery under the direction of the Loraine Undertaking Company. J. L. Meadows was born in Haley, Bedford County, Tennessee July 27, 1876. He moved to Texas in 1895 settling in McLennan County, moved from Bosque County to Mitchell County in 1909, and located at Loraine where he made his home until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and one sister as follows, S. E. Meadows, Loraine, L. A. Meadows of Oklahoma, and Mrs. R. N. McIntyre of Lubbock. One sister, Miss Ada Meadows, preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs A. J. Cody of Snyder, L. Westbrook and family of Snyder, and Mrs. O. L. Robinson of Westbrook were out of town relatives who attended the funeral. Mr Meadows united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church when only a boy and continued his membership as long as the organization was maintained here. He was a good friend, neighbor and brother. He lived a quiet unassuming life, was honest and upright in all of his dealings with his fellowmen. He will be truly missed in our community and in his home.
