M Dale Hughes "Lefty" 79, of Lincoln, died Thursday Dec. 6, 2001 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island. Mr. Hughes was born April 6, 1922 to Phillip and Elsie (LeFevre) Hughes in Ravenna, Nebraska. He grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Jackson High School. He joined the U.S. Navy on Sept. 22, 1942 serving during World War II until he was honorably discharged on Sept. 24, 1945. He Married Helen E Grice on June 24, 1945. The couple lived in Lincoln where Mr. Hughes operated the Our Place Restaurant and Mobile Host Catering in University Place with his family. Mr Hughes was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, the Wood River/Alda V.F.W. and a volunteer in the Ord Elementary Grandfriend Program. Children are Allen, Phil, Susan, Candy, and Michelle.
