Bio
The Glenwood Herald Woodrow Tackett, age 85, of Glenwood, died Thursday, October 14, 1999. He was born on August 2, 1914, at Glenwood, the son of George Anderson Tackett and Alice Wilson Tackett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Stafford Tackett on March 28, 1963 and by his daughter, Carolyn Carder. He was the former manager of the Lux Cafe and served as a former Glenwood night watchman. He is survived by his wife, Syble Tackett of Glenwood; three daughters, Ruby Dee Geisendorff of Kerrville, Texas, Betty Wilson of Chireno, Texas and Lenda Bailey of McCool Junction, Nebraksa; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one step-son, Phillip Keit of California; and one step-daughter, Pat Burns of Abilene, Texas. Graveside services were held on Monday, October 18 in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Caddo Gap with Rev. Lewin Newcob and Edwin Henly officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood. Pallbearers were grandsons.
