Siliivan Services Held Here Saturday Funeral services for Mrs. Edward N. Siliivan were held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16, at the Sargent Methodist church. The pastor, Rev. Merle A. Zook, preached a comforting sermon, using as his text a passage from Isaiah, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee." Mrs. Harold Pointer accompanied Mrs. William McNiel who sang, " O Gentle Presence" and Bernard Brush who sang "The Lord's Prayer." Interment was made in the Sargent cemetery. Relatives from away who were present for the funeral were F.T.C. Robert Vose of the United States Navy and Mrs, Robert Vose, James Vose of Omaha, and Mrs. John Newell of Detroit, Mich. (obituary) Susan Lourena Adamson, daughter of William J,.and Sophia Adamson, was born Aug. 13, 1864, in Ripley, Ohio, snd passed away Dec. 14, 1950, at her home in Sargent, Nebraska. In 1878, she moved with her family to Fairfax, Mo., and from there to Custer County, where her family settled on a farm three miles east and one mile north of Sargent in about 1889. On March 23, 1898, she was united in marriage to Edward N. Siliivan, also a child of pioneer Custer County parents. To this union four children were born, Ida Vose, twin sons, Claude and Clyde, and Jennie Newell. Mr. and Mrs. Siliivan haved lived all of their married life in and near Sargent. Mrs. Siliivan was a member of the Methodist church. In the later years of her life she was interested in Christian Science. Mrs. Siliivan was of a quiet and unassuming nature and lived for her home and family. She had the rare privilege of being well enough to care for her own home until the last few weeks before her death. Mrs. Siliivan was preceded in death by her son, Claude, who was killed in 1924 while in service with the United States Navy, by a grandson, Edward Vose, and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Ida Vose and son, Clyde of Sargent, her daughter, Mrs. John Newell, of Detroit, Mich., a brother, James Adamson of Denver, Colo., a sister, Mrs. Ida Stouffer of Fairfax, Mo., ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
