Bio

JIMMY DEAN KLANECKY Last week's Leader told about Robert M. Spooner taking Mr. and Mrs. Jim Klanecky, who live about three and a quarter miles east of Sargent, and their little son Jimmy Dean to Rochester, Minn., on Monday afternoon March 19th, for treatment by Mayo Clinic physicians. Mr. Spooner returned home Tuesday but Mr and Mrs. Klanecky remained there. Friday evening Mr. Spooner received a phone call stating that the little boy passed away at five o'clock that afternoon and that Mr. and Mrs. Klanecky would arrive in Ansley with the body. Accordingly, he met them there and brought them to Sargent. The funeral service was held at ten o'clock, Tuesday morning at the home of Jim Klanecky's father V. F. Klanecky, and was in charge of the Rev. Michael Szczesny, pastor of the Catholic Church of this City. The pallbearers were Richard Smith, Jerry McCarty, Herbert Spanel and Leland Grint. Interment was made in the Sargent cemetery, known for years, as Mount Hope cemetery. Jimmy Dean Klanecky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Klanecky was born in Sargent, Nebraska, May 10, 1941 and died - in Rochester, Minnesota, March 23, 1945, at the age of three years, ten month, and thirteen days. He leaves to mourn his death his bereaved father and mother and little sister Barbara, who will be two, old in August, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Silver, and many other relatives. His mother’s maiden name was Bessie Silver.
