Obituary of Mary Horky Funeral services for Mary Kosmata Horky were held February 24, 1976 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Sargent, Nebraska. Father Joseph Szynal officiated with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sargent, Nebr. Pallbearers were Dennis Klanecky, William Morse, Joseph Horky, Amos Knapp, Milan Horak, and Jay Buckbee. Rhoad Funeral Home of Sargent was in charge of arrangements. Mary Kosmata Horky, eldest daughter of Thomas and Anna Trubl Kosmata was born in Omaha, Nebr. Nov. 23, 1889, baptized in Saint Wenceslaus Church, had been an active member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge, and departed from this life February 21, 1976, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 28 days. At an early age she moved with her family to a farm near St. Paul,Nebr.; where she received her education and grew to womanhood. On. July 8, 1919 she was united in; marriage to James C. Horky in Sts. Peter and Paul Church in St. Paul, Nebr; The couple moved to the Cummings Park Community which was their home for 24 years. To this union were born five children; Irene Mauler, Casper, Wyo., Melvin Horky, Sargent, Nebr.; Edna Lindsey, Arlington Heights, Ill., Lucille Barnhart, Sargent, Nebr.; and Arlene Hagerty of Elmhurst, Ill. In 1943 the family moved to the Coburg Community where they resided until her husband's death in 1955. She then made her home ia the Somerford Community with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Barnhart. She was a kind, loving mother and. will be missed by all. She Leaves to mourn her passing, five children, twenty grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henry Christensen of Lewistown; ;Montana; also nieces, nephews, add a host of friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, and two brothers, Joseph and Frank Kosmata of. St. Paul, Nebraska.
