Walter Henry Brown, 62, a resident of Sargent died Sunday March 5, at the Sargent Community Hospital following a long illness. Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Free Methodist Church with the Reverend David Vander Does officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Bruner, Charles Fajmom, Elmer McCaslin, Ed Klaneckey, George Sears, and Leonard Amos. Music was furnished by Mrs. Gerald Hodson. Internment was in the Mount Hope Cemetery and Rhoad Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr Brown was born Aug. 24, 1904 at Auburn, a son of Chas. Jud and Elizabeth Jane Clark Brown. As a small child, he with his parents came to Custer county and settled in the Sargent vicinity. He had been engaged in farming and other farm activities until his health failed him. On Jan. 6, 1966 he and Lots Curtis were man-led at Taylor. They made their home in Sargent. He is survived by his wife, Lois and six step-children, Clyde, Dawn, Laura, Keith, Kenneth, and Pamela Curtis all at home: a sister. Mrs. Frances Mars of Omaha; three brothers. Jack and Arthur, Brown of Sargent. Vess Brown, Prole, Iowa and several nieces and nephews He was preceded death by his parents, three sisters, Elizabeth, Ruby, Phoebe, and a brother, Martin.
