Santin dies After Short Illness - Was Resident of This Locality Almost 50 Years - After a few days illness John K. Santin passed away at St. Francis hospital in Grand Island at 7:30 am last Sunday, at the age of 72 years and almost 7 months. Funeral services are to be held this Wednesday afternoon at the Palmer Church of Christ with Rev. L. A. Fishsel of the Methodist church officiating. Mr. Santin was born in Lobez, Czechoslovakia, April 21, 1868. He came to American two years later with his parents, brothers and sisters, and settled near Crete, Nebraska, Soon after his marriage to Elizabeth Santin April 12, 1891, he moved to a farm northeast of Palmer, and a few years later to his own farm on which he resided until the death of his wife in 1937. since that time he has made his home with his son Henry, who moved with his family from the Loup Valley to near Clarks a few months ago. To Mr. and Mrs. Santin were born two sons and one daughter. One son, John Vladimer, died February 14, 1928, at the age of 31 years. Surviving children are Henry of Clarks and Mrs. Tillie Prokop of Wilber. He also leaves to mourn, two grandsons, Henry Francis and Donald John, a granddaughter Barbara; two sisters, Mary Caha of Cache, Okla and Mrs. Frank Nespor of Yukon, Okla; one brother James Santin of Michigan. Preceding him in death are two sisters and two brothers including his twin brother. Mrs. Tillie Prokop was unable to be present at the time of his death as she is at present convalescing at the St. Elizabeth hospital, Lincoln. Mr. Santin was a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather, trying at all times to brighten and ease the ways of his family and friends, by whom he will be greatly missed.
