In Memoriam LEONARD GWEN ABNER April 12, 1912 ~ April 5, 1976 Veteran WWII _________ೋღღೋ____________ Leonard Gwen Abner, 63 of Broken Bow, died Monday in the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. Born April 12, 1912 in Oklahoma, he was a resident of McCurtain County all of his life, a disabled veteran and a member of the Assembly of God Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Abner, two daughters, Carol Ann Abner and Vada Marie Abner, two step-sons, Don Taylor of Houston and Winfred Taylor of Mansfield, Texas, a step-mother, Mrs. Hester Abner of Broken Bow, two brothers, Lloyd Abner of Broken Bow, and Marcus Abner of Ogden, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Meddock of Idabel, Mrs. Maxine Bowers of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Rosie Shoults of Broken Bow, and four step-grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today in the Hochatown Union Church, with Rev. Luther Murphy officiating. Burial was in Hochatown Cemetery. Arrangements and burial were under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.
