The News Messenger, Crawford Co.,IN Sheckells, Albert Lee Died November 28, 19 , Crawford County, Indiana. Alton - Albert Lee Sheckells, son of Mr and Mrs Alonz Sheckells, was born May 1, 1890 , and died at 2 a.m. on November 28, at the age of 69. He married Hettie Monzel Atwood, of Cape Sandy, on June 11, 1911. To this union seven sons and four daughters were born. Survivors are his wife, seven sons, Harry, of Alton; Dennis, of Sulphur; Amuel, of Evansville; Robert, Ernest, Douglas and Norman, of New Albany; four daughters, the Rev Nettie Waggoner, of Alton; Mrs Lou Dell Bowden, of Westfield; Mrs Junie Mae Sturgeon and Mrs Wanda Vetter, of New Albany; 26 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordel Wayne, son of Mr and Mrs Amuel Sheckells. Because of his honesty and sense of humor, he was loved by everyone with whom he came in contact. In his last few days of his life, he testified to his children of a desire to change his relationship with God. Final rites were held at 3 p.m. on November 30 at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Burial was in the East cemetery. Card of Thanks -- We wish to thank our many friends for their prayers and kindness and for the many beautiful flowers received during the death of our loved one.
