CLARA CRUMPTON: 1908 -1986 Clara Tennie Crumpton, 78, died at Hilltop Rehabilitation Center in Grand Junction on Wednesday, May 21,1986. Services, conducted by the Rev. Delbert Golike, were held on May 24 at 2 p.m. in the Oak Creek United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Oak Creek Cemetery. Lila Rider, accompanied on the organ by Thelma Clark, sang Whispering Hope and Abide with Me. Pallbearers were Bob Kline, Darel Hamilton, Roy Monk, Joe Crumpton, Don Leewaye and Ken Zimmerman. Clara was bom in Shady Point, Okla., on Jan. 5,1908. She was the daughter of George and Tennie Richard. She came to Oak Creek in 1936 and had lived in Grand Junction for 16 years prior to her death. She was a member of the Grand Junction Trinity Baptist Church and the Rebecca Lodge. She leaves one son, George Crumpton of Buena Vista; two daughters, Yvonne Kline of Wheatland, Wyo., and Opal Maestas of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Arthur Richard of Panama, Okla., and Lula Janes of Texas; 10 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Preceding her in death in 1971 was her husband, Bert Crumpton.
