Bio

Jim E. Drab JIM E. DRAB was born in LaGrange, Texas on October 14, 1947 and died December 1, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his father, Vincent, and his niece, Stephanie. He is survived by Helen, his beloved wife of thirty-three years and his three sons, Jarrod, Michael, and Jonathan, who brought great joy to his life. He will also be sorely missed by his mother, Annie, his four brothers and two sisters, their spouses and their children, and the members of the extended Drab family. He is in the hearts of the Salinas family, his mother-in-law, Margaret, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and so many nephews and nieces. Jim was an active member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. He and Helen were founding members of UNITAS, and this group has sustained the family in their triails with their prayers and fellowship. Many friends deserve thanks for their continuing support, especially in the last difficult days. Neighbors, members of Houston Fit, the staff of Pasadena School District, members of St. Helen's and Mount Carmel parishes visited and supported the family. Family visitation will be at Corl's Family Funeral Home on Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 12 to 5pm. Jim will be received at St. Helen's Catholic Church at 7pm, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Helen's on Monday, December 6 at 10:00 am with Rev. Wayne Wilkerson officiating. Rite of committal will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family deeply appreciates the work of the Infusion Unit at Kelsey Seybold and would like to thank Houston Hospice Staff for their compassionate care of Jim and their unfailing kindness to his family and friends. Jim opened his heart and home to his family and friends and will greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Helen's Building Fund.
