Born as Robert Micek. Married to Dorothy Mecek on 10-28-1947 at Silver Creek, NE. Was the founder and leader of the Bobby Mills Orchestra. Was known as Bobby Mills, a professional name he adopted in 1947. Began his band in Columbus, NE in 1947. His brothers Elmer and Leonard joined him playing the trumpet and drums. In 1957 he moved to Grand Island to reside. While continuing as band director and musician he owned and operated the Bobby Mills Music Store in Grand Island, Died while on vacation in Colorado.
