The Register-Guard Eugene, Lane County, Oregon Friday, September 3, 2010 Geraldine Maurig The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham for Geraldine Maurig of Portland, formerly of Eugene, who died Aug. 31 of cancer. She was 83. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born June 11, 1927, in Eugene to James and Alta Brustow Randle. She married Charles Maurig on Sept. 26, 1976, in Vancouver, Wash. He died in 1984. She attended high school in Eugene. She owned and operated Happy Face Guest Homes Adult Foster Care in Gresham. She retired in 2005 after 35 years. Survivors include a daughter, Alta Hutton of Thorton, Colo.; a son, John Jennings of Gresham; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society.
