Printed in the Times Post, Houston, Mississippi dated January 10 1963 Mrs. Ella Phillips Dies in Jackson Funeral services were held at Houlka Baptist Church Monday at 2 pm for Mrs. Ella Florence Morgan Phillips, age 82, who died in a Jackson Hospital at 9:45 am Monday. Rev. Thomas J Murphree officiated. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Old Houlka with Houlka Funeral Home in charge. She was a member of the Houlka Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late B L Phillips of Houlka. She is survived by a son, J M Phillips of Houlka; two daughters, Mrs. Madge Jenkins of Jonesboro, Ark., Mrs. Faye Lester of Houlka; one brother, George Morgan of Vardaman; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. She was born in Calhoun County the daughter of the late Bennett Morgan and Adaline Hardin Morgan. She spent most of her life in Houlka. Pallbearers were Farrel Thomas, Joe Bryant, Ollie Kimbrough, Bud Turner, Atwell Washington and Max Kimbrough.
