Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Dugan were held Friday morning at Sacred Heart Church in Greeley. Burial was in the O'Connor Cemetery. Mrs. Dugan, a longtime resident of the O'Connor Community, died Tuesday night in a Grand Island hospital. She had entered the hospital Saturday. She was the former Frances Dolan, daughter of early pioneers of the Boston Valley community, Mr. and Mrs. James Dolan. She and Edward Dugan were married Febr. 12, 1908 at O'Connor. They lived on a farm six miles east of Greeley, with the homesite a known landmark as Dugan's Corner along the old Highway 281 and Highway 56. They lived on this farm 45 years, moving to Greeley in 1953. Mr. Dugan died in August, 1961. Survivors include sons, Don, Jim, Bill, and Raymond (Rusty) of Greeley, Edward and Gerald of Chicago, Ill. and Jack of Lima, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Mary Wathen of Omaha, Mrs. Dorothy Cameron of Grand Island and Mrs. Frances McNeil of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Whalen of Hastings; 63 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
