Bio

age 80years, 9months ------------------------- Cyril, son of Eleazer Willard Carpenter and Emily Molly Plummer Carpenter, was born in Pepin County, Wisconsin on September 4, 1863. He came to Buffalo County, Nebraska with his family in 1872 arriving at Gibbon on September 19 of that year. They spent the first winter in Gibbon while their home was built in Section 14 (NW1/4) of Cedar Township. They traveled from Wisconsin with 2 wagons each pulled by four oxen and a large herd of cattle. They endured many hardships such as blizzards and grasshoppers which destroyed their crops and gardens. Cyril and Philapenna Laura Howe, daughter of Gustine and Gertrude Howe, were married in Kearney, Nebraska on December 23, 1887.
