Bio

John R. Weems was the first husband of Mary Ann Oliver. For years, I thought the somewhat, damaged photo I have, was Nancy J. Weems + William A. Abbott...but now, I am pretty sure it is Mary Ann (Oliver) + John Russom Weems. When I get some time (soon) I will do a drawing or painting of them. The ruff (collar) around her neck, would have been around 1845 (?) and she is much younger than other photos I have seen. Someone's child scribbled on the lower portion of her face, and that area is pretty much on-existent. So, drawing or painting her may be better than photo-retouch. Original with her face is pretty bad, but the hairline, etc., is much more intact. John's bust is pretty good, but, I think I can make it better.—(GalaxyQuest1) The photo added by L.M.
