Served as Sergeant with Co. I of the 13th IA Infantry during the Civil War per list of veteran burials in Nebraska. James William Ireland married Sarah A. {unknown] Moore. Their son George J. Ireland was born Nov 5, 1871 and died July 10, 1915 elsewhere but his body was shipped home from Lincoln, Nebraska.
