Bio

Daughter of James William & Margaret Elizabeth (Best) Farr. Twin to Cornelia Clemetine Farr (1859-1863). The twins were named by their uncle, John Woods Farr, because their father was so ill. James passed away 5 days after their birth. -- Cordelia Aglentine Farr Baumgardner, was born Sept 15, 1859 and died Feb. 25, 1934. She was united in marriage to James R. Baumgarnder August 31, 1878 and to this union was born 9 children, all of whom survive with the exception of one, Mrs. Della M. Fine, who died in June 1924. There are also 28 grand children and 8 great grand children living. Mrs. Baumgardner professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Friends' church. The funeral was conducted at Carpenter's Campground on Feb. 26, 1934 by Rev. Frank Mason, pastor at Carpenters, Rev. Bird and Dr. P.B. Baldridge of First Baptist church Maryville. Mrs. Baumgardner was a faithful and loyal Christian, she was an untiring worker for her Master. Her soul has gone to its reward. May we ever keep her memory green, not with tears for her going, but by taking her life for our example. Time will assuage the anguish of missing her but it can never dim the remembrance of her strong personality. -Lucile Myers Maryville Times, 26 Feb 1934.
