Wilbert Heger son of Ferdinand and Amelia Heger.Wilbert Heger married Jean Freis. ___________________________ Wilbert "Tubby" Heger,73,of Weimar,died Feb. 6 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.Funeral services were held Monday,Feb. 9,at St. Michael Catholic church in Weimar with Rev.John Bily officiating.Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery. Mr.Heger was born June 16,1930 in Weimar to Fred and Amelia (Rerich) Heger.He attended St. Michael School in Weimar and Weimar High School.He married Jean Freis on Oct. 5,1958 at St. Michael Church in Weimar. He served his country in the Army 101st Airborne Division from April 5,1951 to March 31,1953 and served in Germany.He received a certificate of appreciation from the Netherlands Government for his help during the floods,which hit the Netherlands in February 1953.He worked at M-G Inc. Feed Division for 42 years and was a lifelong resident of Weimar.He was inducted into the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame. Mr.Heger is survived by his wife,Jean J. Heger;two sons,Russell Heger and Mark Heger,both of Weimar;and one daughter,Jena Bippert and husband,Kevin of Richmond;and two grandchildren,Allison and Justin Bippert of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents;three brothers,Robert Jim Heger,Herbert Heger and Fred Pats Heger. Pallbearers were E.J. "Boiler" Kahlden,Kervy Kahlden,Gary Heger,Wade Cernosek,Wilbert Otto and Mark Kloesel.Honorary Pallbearers were Leonard Schoeneberg and Harris Ulrich. Weimar Mercury,February 19,2004
