Bio

Hillie Oates was born and reared in East Texas. She lived in the Lone Cedar community for many years. She married Wyatt Oates when she was 17, and the couple had 7 children, 1 son and 6 daughters. Mrs. Oates was confined to her bed for several months, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ima Rogers, in the Lone Cedar community. Survivors included 5 children.
