Blackwell, for many years a jeweler at Lometa, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Briggs-Gamel Funeral Home. Mr. Blackwell passed away Wednesday, June 20 at the home of his son in McAllen. Burial will be in the Knox Cemetery, and Masonic rites will be conducted at the graveside. *********************************** JOEL BLACKWELL, McALLEN, IS DEAD McALLEN -- Joel B. Blackwell, 83, father of M. T. and T. N. Blackwell of McAllen, died a his home on North Taylor Road between Mission and McAllen about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. A retired watchmaker, he had lived in Lometa, Mills County, prior to moving here six years ago. There will be no services here. The body will for forwarded to Lampasas for services and burial. Kreidler-Pride Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In addition to the sons in McAllen, Mr. Blackwell is survived by a third son, J. B. Jr. of Guatemala, and two daughters, Mrs. M. R. Smith of Pecos and Mrss. George Sims of Pasteur, N. M. ================================
