Bio

Dallas Morning News Article 12-15-1969 FRUIT DEALER ROBBED, SLAIN: A South Oak Cliff fruit stand owner was found murdered and apparently robbed on Sunday at the Curb Market in Lancaster. Police reported that a customer upon entering the Market found Vernie Gillaspy,shot with a chest wound. The Police found that only his billfold had been taken, money remained in the register and upon his person. Mr. Gillaspy resided at 2731 Majorie St. in Oak Cliff he was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife Eula May Gillaspy and son Alton Ray Gillaspy.
