Married to Nona Carrie Haworth on 5 Jun 1940 in Windom, Cottonwood, Minnesota, USA. Father of Sharon, Barbara, and Bonnie. ∼ Sherman Taylor , 83, had been a Jeffers area farmer, bus driver Jeffers: Funeral services for Sherman N. Taylor, 83, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Bengtson officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom. He died Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Windom Area Hospital, where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke Thursday, Oct. 1. He had suffered from emphysema for the past 12 years and used supplemental oxygen. He was born February 10, 1909, at Sheldon, Iowa, the son of the late Sherman and Hettie Nirk Taylor. His early years were spent in Iowa until his family moved near Windom. He attended rural public schools near Windom. He married Nona Haworth on June 5, 1940, at Windom. They farmed near Jeffers. He also drove a school bus for a number of years. They moved to the City of Jeffers and joined the United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous committees. He retired from farming in December 1979, when they moved to Jeffers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by one brother. He is survived by his wife, Nona, Jeffers; three daughters, Sharon (Mrs. William) Junker Jr., Windom, Barbara (Mrs. Jerry) Torkelson, Windom, and Bonnie (Mrs. Russell) Hanish, Jeffers; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; and two sisters, Bessie (Mrs. Robert) Morgan, Windom, and Irene (Mrs. Henry) Smith, Westboro, Massachusetts. -- Times/Review , Thurs.
