Bio
Maxon Kovar was born in Magnolia, Texas to the late John and Caroline Kovar. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a graduate of The University of Houston in 1950 and was a member of The Texas Society of Professional Engineers. Maxon retired from Kovar Engineering, a company he founded. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Elsik and Charlie Kovar. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Irene Kovar, four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 16, 2010, in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. From the Houston Chronicle on August 14, 2010
