Last Rites Held For Mrs. Weaver Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Gray-Ballard-Sorrells Funeral Chapel for Mrs. J.W. Weaver, 68, who died Monday. Rev. Boyd I. DeVore, pastor of the Wesley Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Forest Park cemetery. Pallbearers were: J.W. Tapp, R.M. Tapp, Glen Tapp, Hollis Tapp, Curtis Tapp and Billie Ray Tapp. Greenville Morning Herald, Wednesday, September 3, 1947 Mrs. J.W. Weaver Dies Here Monday Mrs. J.W. Weaver, 68, an Arkansas native and a resident of Greenville and surrounding community most of her life, died at her home, 1915 Morse street, Monday night at 9:25 o'clock following an illness of one week's duration. Funeral services are pending, and the body will remain at the Gray-Ballard-Sorrells Funeral Home until time for the services. Mrs. Weaver who was Margie Hogan before her marriage to J.W. Weaver, was born on December 1, 1878. She moved from Arkansas when she was young, locating in Kaufman and moving to Greenville a short time afterward. She had been a member of Williams Chapel near Quinlan for twenty years and was a devout Christian. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. W. Landrum of Fort Worth; one son, Herbert Weaver of Fresno, California; five brothers; Caney Hogan, of California; Tom Hogan, of McAlester, Okla.; Jim Hogan of Shawnee, Okla.; John Hogan and Claud Hogan, also of California; two sisters, Mrs. E. M. Tapp, of this city, and Mrs. Jess Larson, of California and a number of other relatives. Greenville Morning Herald, September, 7, 1947
