Sylvia I. Beans MERIDIAN — Private graveside services for Sylvia I. Beans, 79. of 233 W Pine St., Meridian, who died Wednesday in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 10 30 a.m. Tuesday in Meridian Cemetery under the direction of Jerread's Chapel of the Chimes. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. in Meridian Church of Christ by the Rev. Steve Moore. She was born Aug. 24, 1901, in Lexington, Neb. She was adopted by John and Lula Pickering at the age of 5. She attended schools in Lexington and graduated from Grand Island (Neb.) Business College. She married Ray Beans on Aug. 21, 1921, in Lexington. They farmed in Nebraska until 1947, when they moved to Boise. They ministered in churches in Colorado, California and Idaho. They were with Meridian Church of Christ from 1967 until retiring in 1976. Survivors include her husband of Meridian; a son, Lyle R. of Galveston, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Betty) Adamson and Mrs. Allen (Peggy) Stewart, both of Meridian, and Gayle Rumple of Baltimore; a sister, Pearl Hitchcock of Lincoln, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
