Bio

Monroe William Routon died while on a cattle drive for the Spears Bros Ranch. His death certificate lists death due to pneumonia which was probably due to the Spanish Flu Epidemic. Monroe actually lived and was homesteading 160 acres in Decker, Montana. Death certificate gives a different birthdate than 1867, marker has 1866 but info was given by a co-worker, not a family member. Married Josephine "Josie" Price on 08 Oct 1885 in Callahan Co., Texas. They had 3 children. They were divorced (no record of it) about 1894 and she remarried in 1895. Parents: Matthew Talbot Routon Jr b. Ga Mary Elizabeth Harris b.
