Daughter of Zachariah Yeates and Levisa Hennington, both of Miss. Wife of James "Jim" W. Brown. Together they ran the Brown's Bording House in Rockland, Tyler Co., TX where a good many of the Kirby Sawmill workers stayed. See the 1900 Census for Justice Precinct 8, Tyler, Texas; Roll T623_1674; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 111. Family listed in the census were J Brown 51 [Jim Brown] Julia A Brown 50 [Julia Yeates] Zachory Brown 20 Emma Brown 17 Nannie Brown 14 Minnie Brown 10 Alex Portier 27 Vici Portier 26 [Vici Brown] Quillah Langston 27 Louisa Langston 22 [Louisa Brown] James W Langston 1 Julia out lived her husband, her daughter Louisa and her son-in-law. In 1930, Julia is living on Live Oak St, a few blocks from this cemetery, with her widowed daughter Nannie Good and her two grandsons, Joseph and Hugh Good. NOTE: According to the DC she was born in 1850 while the headstone gives 1851. Informant was Mrs. A. B. Greer of Pt. Arthur.
