Bio

James Calvin Williams married Juliet Louise Donaldson 15 September 1875 at Orizaba Community (extinct) south of Ripley, Tippah County, Mississippi at home of the bride's parents. It was a double-ring wedding ceremony with Juliet's sister, Margaret Jane Donaldson and Richard Benjamin Conner. James Calvin, called Jim, and Juliet, called Lou, migrated south to Aberdeen area, Monroe County, MS, were two daughters Annie Blanche and Bertha Fay were born. They moved back north to Prentiss County, MS, where daughter Beulah Dell was born. By mid 1880s the family moved to the Shannon area of Lee County, MS. Four daughters, Blanche, Bertha Beulah and Hortense lived to adulthood, married and had children. Three other children died young: Pearl Bell Williams, b. 7 Dec 1882, Prentiss County, MS, and died 28 Jan 1883 Prentiss County, MS; Eugene Beauharnias Williams, b. 27 Oct 1887 Prentiss or Lee County, MS, d. 29 Oct 1890 Lee County, MS; Gladys Evelyn Williams, b. 9 Sept 1893 Lee County, MS, and d. 25 July 1898 Lee County, MS. James Calvin Williams was a blacksmith by trade. He and his wife and daughters moved to Alcorn County, MS. James was buried at Boggs Chapel, Tishomingo Co., MS, where he was member as a young man prior to marriage. Juliet "Lou" Williams lived in her widowhood with daughter and husband, Bertha Fay and Richard "Dick" Smith at Corinth, Alcorn County, MS, and are buried in Henry Cemetery. May God Bless them ALL.
