Daughter of Fred and Catherine Ann (Dirks) Milbrodt at Coleridge, Nebraska . She grew up and graduated from high school in Sioux City, Iowa . Shirley was united in marriage to Ivan V. Beran July 28, 1951 at Sioux City, Iowa . She was employed by Detco Truck Plaza , JC Penny's and St. Patrick's High School in North Platte . Shirley was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Telephone Pioneers and the VFW Auxillary. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her flower garden. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Ruth Cox of North Platte, Susan (Tim) Keith of Lake Havasu, AZ, David (Gayle) Beran of Hershey, Joan (Dennis) Lyons of North Platte, Thomas (Elsa) Beran of Accokeek, MD; her sisters, Naomi (Arden) Jensen of Beresford, SD and Phyllis Jones of Mason City, Iowa; a brother, Dale (Sophie) Milbrodt of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Ryan, Aaron (Christine) Keith, Brian (Sallie) Keith, Richard (Wendy) Keith, Trevor (Heather) Stringham, Kyle (Shawna) Stringham, Ashley Stringham, Katrina Beran, Wendy Lyons, Joshua Beran, Ellen Joy Delute, Ivan Beran and Delores Joan Beran; great grandchildren, Kylie Ryan, Alexandria, Victoria, Izabella and Kaylynn Stringham, Annaya Delute, Abbigail, Aaron, Kain, Trysten, Skyler, Jayde, Jacob and Jeremia Keith and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Ivan; and a sister, Dorothy Mowery. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 11, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. James Golka as celebrant. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be from 1 to 7p.m. Tuesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
