Bio

"Matka" on the headstone is Czech for "Mother" According to Past and Present of Saunders County, Nebraska , Vaclav Kaspar came from Bohemia in 1861 to Illinois, where he worked for a time as a coal miner. He subsequently came to Nebraska to claim a homestead. Vaclav and his wife, Mary Cizek, were the parents of two sons, James and Joseph; and four daughters, Josephine, Anna (Vasina), Mary (Fujan) and Christina (Kliment).
