Bio

PFC Harold Twombley was Killed in Action on February 17, 1945 during the Battle of Manila, he was 22 years old… Harold Edward Twombley was the youngest child of Caius & Anna Twombley, born on September 26, 1922 in Valley County, Nebraska, he had four sisters and three brothers. The family moved to Meadville, Pennsylvania while he was still in high school, but Harold finished high school in Arcadia, Nebraska before joined the family in Pennsylvania. He worked for two years in Pennsylvania before returning to Nebraska, where he was drafted into the Army on March 12, 1943. Serving in the 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division, PFC Harold Twombley was Killed during the Battle of Manila in the Philippines on February 17, 1945. He is buried at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Philippines - Plot A Row 16 Grave 115.
