Technical Sergeant Miller served with the 33rd Bomb Squadron, 22nd Bomb Group, the "Red Raiders." He was shot down by flak over the target area, Davao, Philippines, aboard B-24J Liberator #42-100291, "Ole Tomato." Arthur was the Assistant Flight Engineer. His body was not recovered. All eleven crew aboard were killed, including: 1st Lt. Donald W White , pilot 2nd Lt. Alonza Rountree, Jr , co-pilot 1st Lt. William R Brown , Navigator 1st Lt. Joe A Coronado , Bombadier 1st Lt. Nathaniel H Ball , passenger/observer T/Sgt. Arthur K. Miller T/Sgt. Wayne W Shaw , Engineer S/Sgt. John T Hooks , radio operator S/Sgt. Chester B New , gunner S/Sgt. Raymond Schutrum , gunner S/Sgt.
