As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, you soon shall be. Prepare for death and eternity" Inscripton lists no date of birth and implies 1803, but family bible record states 12 Nov. 1805. Located near center of cemetery, approx. 3-1/2' tall tablet almost completely hidden by overgrown Crepe Myrtle. Texas patriarch of this Patrick family, husband of 1)Rachel M. Smith (dau of Britain & Martha Williams Smith) and 2) Mrs. Celia Crone. Father of ten children; Elbert Kelly, Martha S., Lewis J., C. Rufus, John Wm., James Henry, Jerusha Emeline, Geo. Washington, Margaret Adaline, and Winnie M. ================================================== Per suggested comment sent about the location of this cemetery as described by Find A Grave: Caney Cemetery is not located in Sulphur Springs. It is about 2 miles south of Pickton, Hopkins Co, Texas. Sulphur Springs is the county seat of Hopkins Co and about 15 miles west of Caney Cemetery.
