Bio

Ruby Ola Jones, 87, passed away peacefully in Frisco on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008. Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with Bro. Joe Huddleston officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home. Ruby was born July 5, 1920, in Bridgeport, to "Pat" and Lottie (Kirkland) McKibben. The family moved to the South Plains when Ruby was five. Ruby was the oldest of 15 children. Ruby was married to John B. Griffith, Sr. from 1942 to 1961. She then married Oscar Jones on Jan. 23, 1970, in Lubbock. Her family fondly remembers Ruby as a hardworking, proper lady. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, John Griffith, Jr. and wife Joanna of McKinney; daughters, De Lynch and husband J.R. of Ft. Worth and Rita Ritter and husband Jim of Granbury; three stepchildren, Sammy and Richard Jones, and Deanna Fisher; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Jones, six sisters, and three brothers.
