Bio

Rachael Bracken Mankins is the daughter of Isaac Bracken and Rachel Salcop Bracken. She is their oldest child and only daughter. She is the sister to Isaac Bracken (1779 – 1860) and John Bracken (1780 – 1860). Rachel married her first husband, Zachariah Peter Lewis, on July 18, 1796 in Orange County, North Carolina. Zachariah passed away in 1802/03. According to DNA testing, known children were: George Lewis (1797-1886), Rachel B Lewis (1799-1880), Lydia Lewis (1799-1857) and Bracken Lewis (1801-1891) (FAG ID: 14710249). Note: The number of DNA tests preformed were numerous. Rachel married her second husband, Peter Mankins on September 23, 1803. According to DNA testing, from her second marriage, she is the mother of John Bracken Mankins (1804 – 1876), Walter Mankins (1806 – 1851), William Mankins (1806-1833), Peter Sam Mankin (1813-1899), Samuel C Mankin (1815-1881, Edith Mankins (1810 – 1888), Millie Mankin (1817-1894), Elizabeth Mankin (1819-1897), Rachel Mankins (1819 – 1897)and Sarah Mary Mankin (1821-1889). Note: The number of DNA tests preformed were numerous.
