Bio

Parents: Joseph and Bessie (Junek) Reitmajer. Attended grade school in Prague until his family moved to Wahoo. 1957 graduate, Wahoo High School in 1957. Enrolled in an aeronautical school in Kansas City, Missouri and had finished when he was called to serve in the National Guard. He also served in the US Army in 1961 and 1962. Retired from Western Electric in Omaha after forty-two years. Married Venis Placek November 24, 1964 at First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo. Hobbies/Interests: longtime Boy Scout Leader, a member of the Wahoo Eagles Club, American Legion Post #82 and served many years on the Wahoo Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department, air boating on the Platte River, skeet shooting, polka, waltz and big band dancing and playing cards. He served as Wahoo's mayor from 1981–1989 and 2002–2009. He was a Wahoo City Council member from 1976–1981, served on the City Board of Adjustments. Former President of the Nebraska League of Municipalities. Survived by wife Venis; son Daniel D. (Donna) Reitmajer; daughter Dawn D. (Jay Pabian) Reitmajer; grandchildren Ginny, Daniel E., Deanna and Donovan; great grandchildren Malachite and Poppy; nieces and nephews; special niece and nephew Kim and Johnnie Ried. Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Harvey Reitmajer.
