Funeral services for Mrs. Albert J. (Elizabeth) Tupy, age 75, of Webster, were held Monday morning, Jan. 21 at the Hazelwood Catholic Church of the Annunciation with the Rev. Father Renz officiating. Pallbearers were all nephews: Melvin Vanderlinden, George Valek, Emil Valek, Donald Fisher, Tom Franek and Frank Franek. Interment was in the family lot at the Hazelwood Catholic Church Cemetery. Mrs. Tupy, the former Elizabeth Hovorka, was born in the New Prague area on March 4, 1887. In January 1911 she was married to Albert J. Tupy. They made their home in the St. Patrick community for nine years. They moved to the Webster area in 1920 where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Albert Tupy died in the Northfield hospital after an extended illness on Jan. 16. She is survived by her husband, Albert Tupy; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Dickey of Faribault, Mrs. Sam Gilligan of Mankato and Mrs. Elwyn Bray of Northfield; three sons, Henry of Webster, Roy of Gheen and Milo of St. Paul; six sisters, Mrs. Theresa Franek, of New Prague, Mrs. Agnes Fisher, of Minneapolis, Mrs. Albina Hanna, of Marsland, Nebraska, Mrs. Louis Vanderlinden, of Lake George, Mrs. Mary Valek, of Lonsdale and Mrs. Barbara Shankey of St. Paul; two brothers, John Hovorka of Canby and Van Hovorka of Roseau; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends attended the services from Roseau, Gheen, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Mankato, Northfield, Faribault, Lonsdale, New Prague, Montgomery, Chaska, Webster, New Market, and West Concord.
