Bio

Mrs. Celeste Couchman, 92, died Tuesday in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. She was born Sept. 22, 1883, a daughter of Thomas and Jane Huston Vaughn, and lived in Champaign County all her life. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Brice (Elsie) Parker; one son, Robert; nine grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Cleora Ward and Mrs. Raymond (Katie) Shultz. Her husband, Guy, died in 1953. Her body was taken to the Walter Funeral Home, Urbana, where friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held there at 10:30 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Walter Cain, pastor of Concord United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
