Dorothy Jean Cassel O'Daniel June 12, 1931 - Feb 16, 1998 Mrs. Dorothy O'Daniel, 66, passed away on Monday, Feb 16, 1998 at her residence in Waxahachie surrounded by loved ones. She was born, Dorothy Jean Cassel, June 12, 1931, in Carthage to George Wiley and Jessie Geneva Underwood Cassel. Dorothy graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948. Dorothy married Loyd C O'Daniel, of Waxahachie, on November 30, 1958 at the First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi. Dorothy and Loyd made their residence in Waxahachie where they raised their family. She retired from the Larkin Co in 1993 after 32 years of service. Dorothy was a devout member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church where she attended the Fellowship Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge #381 where she held the post of Noble Grand. Dorothy was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her legacy will be her infinite kindness, her enduring faith, and her everlasting love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her children, Beverly and Michael Hennessy of Colorado Springs, Co., Deborah and Scott Green of Waxahachie, Frances and Benjamin Woodruff of Waxahahchie, and Loyd Ray O'Daniel of Cedar Creek Lake; her grandchildren, Cody O'Daniel and wife Renee O'Daniel, Cassie and Bruce Green and Joshua and Jessie Woodruff, all of Waxahachie and Kaitlin, David, and Sean Hennessy of Colorado Springs, Co; great-grandchildren, Cassie Allen and B J Williams of Waxahachie. Her sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Vernon Coleman of Angleton; as well as numerous other relatives also survive her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 29 years, Loyd C O'Daniel on March 7, 1987. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, Feb 18,1998 at Ferris Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev Gus Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Boz. Pallbearers will be Gary A Coleman, Barry A Coleman, Cody O'Daniel, Bill Coleman, Roland Hernandez and Steven Raney. Homorary pallbearers are Bill L Campbell, Frank Patton,Jr, Michael O'Daniel, Jimmy O'Daniel and James Dodson. The family will receive freinds and relatives at Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Ferris Heights United Methodist Church.
